About GrandviewDigFest
Some projects start with a business plan. This one started with a batch of homemade IPA and a folding table in a park. Back then, GrandviewDigFest was simply a small craft beer gathering—friends, neighbours, and a few curious strangers swapping bottles and stories under the sun. But something unexpected happened that afternoon: people didn’t just taste beer; they discovered corners of the neighbourhood they’d never noticed before. They lingered on streets they usually drove past, talked to residents they’d never met, and started seeing their city differently.
That moment stayed with me. I’m Ananya Rao, the home brewer behind that first fest, and the person who now runs this site. Over the years, what began as a beer event quietly grew into something larger—a celebration of the places we call home. The festival expanded to include local food, live music, pop-up art, and guided neighbourhood walks. We started showcasing a “Neighbourhood of the Month,” where residents opened their doors, shared stories, and led curious visitors through their favourite streets. Those walks became the heart of the festival, and eventually the heart of this website.
Today, GrandviewDigFest is your year-round guide to neighbourhoods, homes, and community life across India. We share honest neighbourhood profiles, practical home tips, local event calendars, and curated real estate listings we call “Digs.” The annual festival still happens—it’s our signature event, a weekend where everything we write about comes to life—but the real work happens in the quieter months, when we walk the streets, talk to locals, and piece together what makes a place worth calling home.
What you’ll find here
- Neighbourhood deep dives: Street-by-street looks at the communities we love, with resident voices, hidden gems, and honest takes on everyday living.

- Local event coverage: Not just our own festival, but the block parties, flea markets, and cultural gatherings that give each area its rhythm.
- Digs—homes for sale and rent: A handpicked selection of properties in the neighbourhoods we feature, shared in partnership with trusted local agents who know the streets as well as we do.
Why this works (and why it’s personal)
I never planned to write about real estate. But after years of leading festival walks through unfamiliar lanes, I noticed a pattern: people would fall in love with a neighbourhood, then quietly ask, “Could I actually live here?” That question stayed with me. I started paying attention not just to the charm of a place, but to the practical details—the morning light in a courtyard, the noise levels on a Tuesday evening, the nearest kirana store that stays open late. Those details matter when you’re choosing a home. They’re the difference between a pretty street and a place where your life actually fits.
That’s the lens we bring to everything on this site. We don’t do generic listings or recycled descriptions. Every neighbourhood profile is written after multiple visits, conversations with residents, and—whenever possible—a home tour or two. We’re not agents, but we collaborate with a small circle of local property advisors who share our commitment to honesty over hard sell. And the festival remains our anchor: a yearly reminder that community isn’t something you buy, but something you build, one conversation at a time.
Meet the person behind the pages
I’m Ananya Rao. I started as a home brewer and co-creator of the original Grandview Dig Fest. Over time, I realized the festival’s real magic wasn’t the beer—it was the way it connected people with neighbourhoods they’d never explored. I began writing about the streets, the overlooked corners, and the resident stories I gathered during fest walks. That curiosity deepened into a lasting fascination with local real estate, home living, and the everyday rituals that turn a house into a home. Now I run this site as a hyperlocal guide, blending street-level observation with practical resources for anyone looking to put down roots. The festival still happens every year, and I still brew a batch for it. Some things are too good to leave behind.
If you’re new here, start with our latest neighbourhood feature or browse upcoming events. If you’re looking for a home, check the Digs section—we keep it small and thoughtful. And if you’re around during the next GrandviewDigFest, come say hello. I’ll probably be the one pointing out a hidden courtyard most people miss.
